Maximum penalty for insider dealing offences increases

The maximum sentence for insider dealing is set to increase from 7 to 10 years on 1 November 2021. It follows the recent passing of The Financial Services Act 2021 (Commencement No. 3) Regulations 2021 which give effect to Section 31 of the Financial Services Act 2021.

Firms should update their market abuse policies and training materials accordingly.
